A BASINGSTOKE man who damaged a car belonging to someone else has been ordered to pay back compensation costs.

Jay Gibson, of Kings Furlong Centre, on Saturday, April 1, without lawful excuse damaged a Mini Countryman to the value of £662 belonging to someone else in Basingstoke, intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged.

During a hearing held at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Monday, February 19, the 29-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence.

Magistrates ordered compensation costs of £662.81 to be paid.
