TWO people have been injured following an crash on the M3 which saw a vehicle leave the carriageway.

Police were called to reports of the vehicle leaving the motorway and landing in a neighbouring field at around 10.30am on Thursday, February 22.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue, the Hazardous Area Response Team and paramedics were also present on the scene.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “Both occupants of the vehicle suffered injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing." 

A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue said that one vehicle had left the road and was in an ‘adjacent field’.

They added: “Two casualties were treated at the scene by SCAS. Crews made the scene safe and left at 11.18am.”

The collision caused disruption and delays to drivers, with lane one and the hard shoulder of the M3 between J5 and J6 closed. All lanes reopened at 12.45pm.
