A SUPERMARKET in Basingstoke is appealing for Easter Eggs donations to spread joy amongst local children who may not otherwise receive an egg.
Tesco Superstore in Chineham Shopping Centre, Basingstoke, is asking for shoppers to donate chocolate Easter Eggs, with the campaign being called 'more relevant than ever' due to the cost-of-living crisis.
The appeal, in which shoppers are invited to purchase the treats and leave them in a number of dedicated trolleys that will be placed behind the tills in the store, will run until March 15.

Jane Stubbs, community champion at Tesco Basingstoke, said: "Last year the community really rallied behind our Easter Appeal and we were able to donate over 640 Easter eggs which were distributed amongst 21 local community groups.
"Due to the cost-of-living crisis, the appeal is more relevant than ever, and we hope to be able to support even more local families in being able to celebrate Easter."
50 of the chocolate eggs have already been donated to the appeal by the management team at Chineham Shopping Centre. Centre manager, Chris Carter, said: "We are delighted once again to be supporting families with Tesco over the Easter period, and helping the local community is a key focus for us at Chineham Shopping."
