ROAD users have been warned that part of a road in Basingstoke will be closed overnight to allow for works to be completed.

The A30 Winchester Road will be closed at night between the hours of 8pm and 6am between the A30 Hatch Warren Roundabout and the Dummer Interchange Roundabout.

The work to improve the junction into the golf course started on Monday, January 15 and is expected to last no more than six days.

A spokesperson for Hampshire County Council said: “The developer has been given permission by the county council, as the Highway Authority, to temporarily close the road to complete outstanding work on Greenkeepers Avenue and Hounsome Fields Roundabout.

"To minimise inconvenience, these works will be undertaken overnight. However, access will be maintained for residents, including those living off Saunders Way. A signed diversion will be in place for all other road users travelling in the vicinity of the works."
