A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
A 47-year-old man from Basingstoke was stopped in a blue Audi in Sir John Moors Close, Winchester at around 1pm on Wednesday, December 20.
The driver was searched and some suspected Class A drugs were found. Upon further investigation, officers found the car had been stolen from an address in Weston Way, Eastleigh.
The man remains in custody. His arrest follows Winchester Police’s efforts to target individuals dealing drugs in and around the Weeke and Harestock area of Winchester.

Winchester Police posted on Facebook: “This work was carried out following on from community intelligence received.
“We take drug related harm offences very seriously and we rely on information from the public to be able to take positive action against criminals in our City. Anyone found to be involved in drug offences will be dealt with robustly and we will look to take positive action wherever possible.
“If you have concerns around drug related activity in your area you can report it to 101 or online via the Hampshire police website. You can also report anonymously through Crimestoppers.”
