A STAR from the Hobbit film trilogy is coming to Basingstoke next year.
Actor Richard Armitage, who gained international recognition for his portrayal as Thorin Oakenshield in the Hobbit, as well as his role in Captain America: The First Avenger, will appear at Basingstoke Comic Con next May.
The announcement was made on X, formerly known as Twitter on Wednesday, December 20.

Richard will appear at the event on May 11 and 12 and be available for autographs and pictures.
Appearing alongside the actor is headliner Richard Dean Anderson, known for playing secret agent MacGyver in the 1980s TV show of the same name, along with Harry Potter actor Evanna Lynch and Harry Melling.
Basingstoke Comic Con will take place from May 10-12, 2024, at the Hampshire Court Hotel, and will follow on from the success of this year's inaugural event, which saw the likes of David Tennant and Jeffrey Dean Morgan come to town.
