AS Christmas approaches, Hampshire County Council IS reminding residents of where they can go to receive help if they are experiencing domestic violence or have concerns about the behaviour or welfare of themselves or someone else.

During the festive period, rates of domestic violence are known to increase in the county, with police data from 2020 highlighting a two per cent increase in throughout December.

Cllr Liz Fairhurst, executive member for adult services and public health, said: “While many of us look forward to spending time with friends and family at Christmas, for some, the festive season means spending more time experiencing abuse.
