A HEARTWARMING family Christmas show that will draw inspiration from classic Christmas stories will be entertaining audiences in Basingstoke.
Help! There’s an Elf in my House! will run from Saturday, December 9 till Christmas Eve, with three shows a day, the Proteus Theatre.
The heartwarming family story made by resident creatives, Scratch Built Productions, draws inspiration from classic tales such as The Night Before Christmas when a child discovers an elf in their house on Christmas Eve who has lost something very important.
Audiences will travel around the building with the story and are encouraged to explore, play, create and interact with the enchanting surroundings and colourful characters that they meet along the way.

Director and writer Becky Kitter said: "Each year, we take over every room in the building, creating a unique and memorable experience for our audience. The gallery has been transformed into a bustling Christmas market, a whimsical shoe shop and Santa's workshop. The art room has served as a cosy kitchen, a post office and a giant advent calendar and the studio has become a magical toy shop, a busy train station, and enchanting winter wonderlands.
"We are thrilled that our Christmas shows have become a beloved tradition for the people of Basingstoke. Magic wands that were created in our shows have been reused in weddings, fairy shoes continue to be left out every year with the hope of receiving a visit from the fairies, and homemade baubles are proudly hung on Christmas trees year after year.
“Every year [the show] is so magic and special, my children really enjoy it. The look on the children’s faces tell you everything you need to know.”
