CRIME reported to police in Basingstoke and Deane has increased, according to the latest figures.

In October 2023 - the most recent month available - 1,206 crimes were reported across the borough, which is up from 1,162 crimes reported in the previous month of September, according to data.police.uk.

The most common category was violence and sexual offences, with 424 offences reported, which is down from 430 reports in September.

Anti-social behaviour incidents were the second-most common category, with 138 reports during the month, followed by 115 reports of public order offences.
