A FAMILY business based in Basingstoke is continuing its support for a cancer charity and donating a new front door in an online raffle.

Ripton Windows, in Moniton Trading Estate, has launched a raffle, hoping to raise at least £1,000 for The Pink Place and the lucky winner will receive a new composite door.

All of the entry money from the raffle, which is available to enter online and costs just £10 per ticket, will go straight to The Pink Place to help support men and women in Basingstoke and the surrounding areas undergoing cancer treatment.

Basingstoke Gazette: Ripton Windows is continuing its support for The Pink PlaceThis latest fundraising activity from Ripton Windows follows the company's decision to adopt The Pink Place as its charity of the year in the summer, which has already seen it raise over £1,000, paying the travel costs for the charity's annual guest trip to Bath Christmas Market on November 29.

Matthew Ripton, owner of Ripton Windows, said: "We have delivered home improvement projects for generations of families in this town since 1996, so we realise that Basingstoke is very much in our DNA as a business. Having been introduced to The Pink Place and seeing the incredible work they do for, unfortunately, more and more people, we knew we had to get involved and have planned several events for 2024.

"With one in two of us getting cancer during our lifetimes, the support that The Pink Place gives is an essential lifeline, something that hit home in September when three of the users of their services came in and spoke to the team."

Christine Griffiths, events manager at The Pink Place, has welcomed the extra support from the company as the charity continues to support more and more people.

"The support we give to people with cancer makes a real difference to their lives, so help from companies like Ripton Windows is essential as the demand changes, and it's great to have their support financially and from the increased profile within the local business community.

"The donations they have made so far, and the ongoing support, have been incredible for our charity and go straight into helping local people through a very tough time."

The raffle competition is available online via the Pink Place website and closes on Wednesday, December 13.
