A 59-YEAR-old has been banned from driving for 12 months after he was caught over the drink drive limit in Basingstoke.

Dennis Moore, of Tiverton Road, Basingstoke, was stopped behind the wheel of a grey Volkswagen Beetle near his home on Tuesday, October 3.

It was found that he had 40 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.

Moore pleaded guilty to the offence during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 31.

Along with receiving a driving ban, Moore was fined £75 and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £34 victim surcharge.
