MORE arrests have been made as part of an investigation into a public order incident in Odiham in which a man was believed to have been struck with a crowbar.

Police were called at around 3.15pm on Sunday, October 8, to reports of a disturbance involving two groups of people at a site off the A287 Farnham Road, near the Chalky Lane junction.

A man suffered an injury to his head from what police believe to be a strike with a crowbar, while a man at the scene was also reportedly seen with a gun. Police believe all the parties involved are known to each other.

Since it was reported to Hampshire Constabulary, officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries and have now arrested a total of eight men.

A police spokesperson has said that officers made two arrests on Monday, November 13.

A 38-year-old man from Mortimer Common was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, violent disorder and criminal damage to property valued under £5,000.

A 22-year-old man from Bramley was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and violent disorder.

Both men remain in custody while enquiries are ongoing.

It comes after officers made six arrests throughout October:

On October 29, a 26-year-old man from Wokingham was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, violent disorder and burglary other than dwelling – theft. He has been bailed with conditions until January 29, 2024 while enquiries continue.

On October 12, a 21-year-old man from Wokingham was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and violent disorder. He has been bailed with conditions until January 12, 2024 while enquiries continue.

On October 11, a 25-year-old man from Odiham and a 33-year-old man from Reading were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. The pair have been bailed with conditions until January 11, 2024 while enquiries continue.

On October 8, officers arrested two men. A 40-year-old man from Odiham was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, theft of motor vehicle, aggravated vehicle taking and affray. A 25-year-old man from Odiham was arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle, grievous bodily harm with intent and affray. Both men have been bailed with conditions until January 8, 2024 while enquiries continue.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone who has any information about what happened to contact us.

“In particular, we want to hear from motorists who were driving on the A287 Farnham Road near Odiham at around 3.15pm on Sunday 8 October. You may hold footage that could be important to our investigation.
