We are giving local charities the chance to win £1,000 cash in a giveaway to help support their work.
It could be that you volunteer or work for a charity, or you may just want to support your favourite local charity by nominating it to win the £1k cash we’re making available to support great local causes.
Once all nominations have been received our editor will review the charities with the highest volume of nominations and choose from these which in the editor’s view offers the greatest benefit to the community to receive the £1k cash.
The £1k cash is being provided by our parent company’s charitable arm: The Gannett Foundation.
This year the Gannett Foundation will donate £26,000 to charities across the country.
To make your nomination now, simply complete the form printed in your Daily Echo from the 16th October until Thursday 30th November 2023.
In 2021 we awarded around £1,300 to Communicare in Southampton, which works with people to relieve poverty, hardship and distress.
The cash funded tea parties held for those emerging from isolation helping them to make new friends.
