Who doesn't love the cinema?

Have you been waiting for the perfect moment to complete the 'Barbenheimer' challenge? Well, this could be your lucky day.

This Saturday, September 2, is National Cinema Day, and Basingstoke's cinemas are offering heavily discounted tickets.

Grab your popcorn and 3D glasses because to celebrate the occasion, Odeon and Vue cinemas in Basingstoke are selling tickets for just £3.

Last year's inaugural event saw more than 1.5 million admissions across the country, which is over three times the usual level for a regular day.

National Cinema Day is organised by Cinema First, and supported by the Film Distributors’ Association and the UK Cinema Association.

Vue cinema, near Festival Place, will be participating in the deal, as will Odeon, located in the leisure park.

Popular films that you can go and watch in cinemas this weekend include Barbie, Oppenheimer, Sound of Freedom, Blue Beetle, Meg 2: The Trench, The Equalizer 3, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and many more.

Cinema First boss Iain Jacob said: "There seems no better time than now to celebrate UK cinema-going, one of the nation’s favourite out-of-home leisure activities.

"Coming off of the back of recent successes and the huge profile they have given to the sector, we wanted to give everyone a chance to enjoy the big screen experience."
