BASINGSTOKE may have become the latest place to embrace the Chinese lantern craze sweeping the UK.
A number of residents have reporting seeing "strange lights flying in formation" at about 11pm last night.
The witnesses are certain they were not aircraft.
A flurry of UFO reports in Wales last week coincided with a wedding party releasing dozens of blazing Chinese lanterns, which rise into the sky like hot-air balloons.
Anyone who witnessed the unexplained phenomena in the Basingstoke area, has photographic evidence of it or knows what caused the lights can contact The Gazette newsdesk on 01256 337444 or email newsdesk@basingstokegazette.co.uk
