Join Kala The Arts' 25 Year Anniversary Celebration for a special evening that celebrates creative performances in South Asian dance and music.
On Saturday, July 8, a programme that includes Kala’s professional dance company Sapta performing a commissioned piece and a new piece, two of its Youth Dance Companies, a new short film Shifting Cultural Landscapes across Rural Hampshire through Indian Dance, and an exciting live band playing Bollywood and Bhangra music, will take place at The Haymarket on Saturday, July 8, starting at 7pm.

For 25 years Kala, a leading South Asian Dance and Music organisation based locally, has been working with many different communities in Basingstoke and Hampshire to give people from all backgrounds a chance to enjoy, develop skills and celebrate, diversity and community cohesion.
As an Arts in Education charity, Kala has also worked with students from schools, community groups, BCOT and QMC as well as those who take part in regular classes from local areas and online internationally.
Kala’s artistic director Sushmita Pati creates, develops and promotes new work using classical Indian dance vocabulary and related arts.

Kala opened the Basingstoke Festival 2021 and also created the Light It Up festival – the first large-scale Diwali event in the Southwest of England which continues to draw in crowds of people from a variety of backgrounds in Basingstoke and beyond.

Tickets for the 25 Year Celebration are priced at £23. Over 65s, under 25s, and f/t students £21 (includes £3 booking fee).
