A PUB in Kingsclere recently celebrated its first bike night of 2023, to the delight of the biking community.

Bike nights at The Crown have become a staple of the summer in the village, beginning in 2018. The idea was born from landlord Nigel Windmill's love of motorbikes.

The Crown hosted its first bike night of the year on May 30, with live music and a barbecue available for attendees. Performing at the bike night in May was The Deltas.

Landlady of The Crown, Suzanne Windmill, said: "It was great to see both the village and biking community out in the sunshine enjoying our first bike night of the year."

The pub hosts four bike nights a year on the last Tuesday of the month, from May through to August, starting at 6.30pm. Plenty of bikes and people attended on the night, with over 150 classic and new bikes making their way to the pub.

The pub hosts a range of events throughout the year, with a quiz night coming up towards the end of the month on June 25, starting at 7pm, before the next bike night which will take place on Tuesday, June 27, starting at 6.30pm.

Many bikes are expected to roll in for the event, with more tasty treats cooking up on the barbecue and live music from Shut the Front Door.
