Police were called to a medical centre in Basingstoke following reports of a suspected burglary.

Residents reported a police presence at Shakespeare Road Medical Practice, in Popley Way, on Monday, June 5.

It had previously been thought that the practice had been subjected to vandalism, but after contacting Hampshire Constabulary, the Gazette was told that an attempted burglary took place.

It is believed that the incident happened overnight from June 3 to June 4.

The practice had remained closed on June 5, but reopened as normal on June 6.
