A COMPANY has given people and community groups from across Hampshire the opportunity to help the environment and their communities by applying for funding for sustainability projects.

Veolia, a resource management company, is launching this year's Sustainability Fund, ahead of World Earth Day on April 22.

Applications for funding open on April 21 where there is also the opportunity to receive in-kind resources and volunteers available.

The fund is open to not-for-profit organisations, community groups or individuals in areas where the company partners with the local authority to deliver waste and cleansing services.

Mark Gray, general manager Hampshire at Veolia, said: "We’re so thrilled to launch the Sustainability Fund in Hampshire.  As we work towards ecological transformation in collaboration with the communities we work with every day, we can’t wait to see the inspiring and innovative ideas from Sustainability Applicants in 2023.”

All applications will be considered, but projects should aim to fulfil at least one of the following criteria; enhancing biodiversity, promoting sustainable behaviours (reduce, reuse and/or recycle), protecting or preserving resources and the environment and using recycled, reused or reclaimed materials.
