TWO new housing developments in Basingstoke are set to officially open to the public.

Bloor Homes' Southern and South West regions have come together to launch two new developments made up of five new showhomes located off Winchester Road.

The Mayor of Basingstoke, Cllr Paul Miller and Mayoress Sandra Miller cut the opening ribbon at the VIP launch of the new homes on Friday, April 21.

The showhomes will now be open to the public on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23.

Lucy Reynolds, sales director for Bloor Homes’ Southern region explained the homes will demonstrate the quality of their "brand new, low maintenance and energy efficient family homes."

She added: "We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to see the showhomes for themselves."

The homes are located a few minutes' drive from the M3 motorway and are also close to the boroughs town centre.

Sandra Dixon, sales director for Bloor Homes’ South West region, added: “Having two developments together gives us the opportunity to showcase a wider range of showhomes. Our new developments have so much to offer everyone – for those looking for a first home, a family home or those looking to downsize."

Bloor Homes also have support in place for people moving homes, including their Assisted Move scheme.

The development names are ‘Bloor Homes on the Green’ and ‘Bloor Homes on the 18th’. This refers to the forty-two per cent of the 108 acres near the homes that will remain as dedicated open green space for residents to use, including a woodland walk.

Bloor Homes has also proposed allotments, kick-about areas, play areas, sports pitches for residents to be able to make the most of the outdoors, and a local centre with convenience shops.

The homes will be a mix of traditional and modern elevations to suit different preferences.

The showhomes are the Modbury four-bedroom townhouse, the Wilton three-bedroom detached home, the Wollaton four-bedroom detached home, the Leighton four-bedroom detached home and the Dawlish four-bedroom detached home.

Bloor Homes will be offering cupcakes and refreshments over the weekend, a lucky dip to win offers to be used in conjunction with reservations made within a week of the launch, and a scavenger hunt for children to find items hidden in each showhome.
