A HOSPICE for children and young adults in Hampshire will be presenting a 5k run at Solent Airport.

The event will be held on Sunday, June 11 and residents are encouraged to embrace the excitement of running down a runway that is normally reserved for aeroplanes.

By participating in this event, residents will be supporting Naomi House & Jacksplace, local hospices for children and young adults in Hampshire.

Charlotte Patrick, fundraiser at Naomi House & Jacksplace, said: “We have a full and varied event portfolio, however, we are always keen to add new events. As a keen jogger, I know how much this new and unique event will appeal to so many local runners.

"This is such an exciting event. Participants will need to be quick as there are limited places available.”

Martyn Francis, airport manager at Solent Airport added: “It is with immense pleasure that Solent Airport can play host to such an exciting charity event and a very first for us.

"Being able to not only raise money but awareness through this unique opportunity to ‘Run the Runway’ will hopefully bring Naomi House & Jacksplace the support that is needed for the ongoing hard work of this fantastic charity.”

Participants need to be at least 16 years of age and entry is £12.50.
