AN ALLEGED shoplifter has been charged with a spate of thefts from shops across Basingstoke.
Leon Davies, 25, of no fixed abode has been charged with the following offences:
- Shoplifting from the Co-Op on Oakley Lane on 11 February
- Shoplifting from the Shell garage in Buckskin on 19 February
- Shoplifting from Cool Merch in Festival Place on 20 February
- Shoplifting from the Co-Op on Oakley Lane on 21 February
- Shoplifting from Cool Merch in Festival Place on 22 February
- Shoplifting from Morrisons on Worting Road on 23 February
- Shoplifting from Iceland in Basingstoke town centre on 6 March
- Theft from the Premier Inn, Basingstoke on 29 March
More than £290 worth of goods were stolen across these offences.
Davies has also been charged with assault by beating, possession of Class A drugs (heroin), possession of Class B drugs (amphetamine), obstruct/resist a constable, and possession of a knife in a public place
He has been remanded to appear before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 3 April.
