MAGISTRATES have fined a man hundreds of pounds for disposing of construction rubbish in Basingstoke.

Bobby Goddard, Eden Farm Lyne Road in Surrey, disposed of roofing waste, roofing felt, wooden batons, cardboard boxes and general builder's waste on Northgate Lane in Basingstoke without the authority of a current environmental permit in July 2021.

During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court, the 24-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence.

Magistrates fined him £800 and also ordered him to pay compensation of £276 and a surcharge fee of £80.

A DRUNK driver from Basingstoke has been banned from getting behind the wheel.

David Lilly, of Borodin Close, drove a vehicle on Hatch Warren Way with 53 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35.

During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court, the 34-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence.

Magistrates banned him from getting behind the wheel for 12 months and handed him a fine of £276. He was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge fee of £110.

AN INSURED Basingstoke driver has been handed penalty points and fined hundreds of pounds.

Kassandra Beaupre, of George Street, drove a Nissan Note on Winchester Road in Basingstoke without any insurance allowing her to do so on November 30, 2021.

During a trial at Aldershot Magistrates' Court, the 40-year-old was found to be guilty of the driving offence.

Magistrates endorsed her licence with six penalty points and ordered her to pay a fine of £660. She was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge fee of £66.

A DRIVER who failed to provide a specimen of blood when required to do so has been handed penalty points.

Zachery Lewis, from Caldicot, failed to provide a specimen of blood for a laboratory test by police after he was suspected to have driven a vehicle on Oakridge Road in Basingsotke on August 30, 2022.

The 29-year-old also had in his possession a quantity of Ketamine, a controlled drug of Class B.

During a hearing at Aldershot Magistrates' Court, Lewis pleaded guilty to the offence and was handed 10 penalty points. He was also ordered to pay a fine totalling £188, court costs of £310 and a discharge fee of £75.

Magistrates also ordered the Class B drug to be destroyed.

MAGISTRATES have disqualified a Basingstoke drunk driver.

Gavin Savage, of Lower Brook Street, drove a vehicle on Worting Road in Basingstoke on February 3 with 58 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court, the 53-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence.

Savage was banned from getting behind the wheel for 14 months and fined £553. He was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge fee of £221.
