A VILLAGE pub has gone on the market after the owner decided to sell the property due to ill health.

The leasehold of the George and Dragon in Tadley has gone on the market at a guide price of £150,000.

According to property agency Fleurets, the Grade II-listed property is “free of all ties” and presents “a fantastic opportunity to take over an already successful business”.

A new lease was completed by the current tenant in February 2020, following which there was "a substantial investment made as well as a full refurbishment".

Fleuret said under the current tenant’s ownership sales are £600,000 per year (net of VAT) and continue to increase.

According to the agency, the only reason they have made the decision to sell is due to ill health.

The George and Dragon comprises three interconnecting trading areas (60 covers), 12 en-suite letting bedrooms and spacious living accommodation which is currently being used for Airbnb.

The site also includes gardens, a patio, a field, three parking areas for approximately 60 cars and a number of outbuildings.

Fleurets South divisional director Nick Earee said: “The George and Dragon is a substantial property which has seen continued increasing sales.

“It presents a great opportunity for an operator with previous experience to take advantage of an already successful business.”
