A MOTHER from Tadley has been given just two years to live after being diagnosed with a terrifying brain tumour.

Emma Postance, 42, was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour in December last year when a routine scan showed something on her brain.

Emma, mother to one-year-old Alice, has been told she may only have two years left to live.

She said: "I asked them at the time 'is this going to get me' and they said yes and the meeting after that was all just a big blur."

The 42-year-old mum has had health issues throughout her life, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis - a lifelong incurable condition that can lead to sufferers needing a wheelchair. She also had ovarian cancer in her 30s.

Despite her health issues she used sperm donation to conceive her baby as a solo mum.

After hearing the devastating life-changing news Emma told the Gazette that it just does not feel real.

Emma said: "At the moment it is just battling, getting through the treatment and focusing on fundraising and staying positive.

"I just don't think that it will ever feel real I just think life is so cruel. Alice is like my miracle child and I still can't believe I even have her."

The Basingstoke mother said she had to have the heartbreaking conversation with her brother, asking him to look after Alice if she is not around.

In a bid to help raise funds for Emma's specialist treatment Neil Humphries, from Tadley - a parent at Alice's nursery - set out to do all he could to help through a charity football match.

Neil set up The Big Match held at St Mary's football stadium, the home of Southampton FC, in memory of his father David Humphries who died from a brain tumour.

Neil said he was keen to help Emma as her diagnosis is very similar to his dad's.

The match will be held on June 2 and the game, which takes place during the half term, will kick off around 12pm.

Emma is currently undergoing chemotherapy, following an operation that successfully removed all the visible bits of the tumour and is researching ways to prolong her life.

In the meantime, she is cherishing every moment she gets to spend with Alice.
