RESIDENTS from a care home in Basingstoke have been celebrating National Activity Providers Week by thanking staff.

Staff and residents at Ashcombe House care home in Worting Road, Basingstoke, run by Barchester Healthcare, are celebrating this week, from January 23 to 27, by thanking the activity team.

Residents and staff thanked the "wonderful" activities team at the home, whose "hard work and dedication make a real difference" in the lives of the residents living there.

National Activity Providers Week is an annual event to support activity professionals and thank them for all the many different and varied activities they provide to residents and patients. 

Activity coordinator Michelle Martin offers "unique, tailored activities and entertainment to residents".

As part of the celebrations, the activities staff were presented with a certificate of Thanks from the staff and residents along with a Bouquet of flowers and a bottle of fizz.

General manager Louise Lambert said: “It is so wonderful to be able to celebrate National Activities Providers Week and thank our fantastic activities coordinator Michelle for all her hard work by organising something for them for a change.”
