TO RAISE money for young careers and children suffering from life-limiting illnesses, everyone is invited to two free nights of music.

A rock band born out of Covid, Dead Jackals, have organised a Hampshire charity tour, starting at the Basingstoke Irish Centre on January 28 and then at the Rockhouse in Andover on February 3.

Both concerts will run from 8pm to 11pm, feature various bands and have a charity bucket where people can help support Basingstoke and District Young Careers and The Able Foundation.

Tommy Keough, 37, who lives in Rooksdown and is the singer and bassist in the band, said: "I know all charities are fantastic, but I chose to support this young careers charity in particular because I used to look after my Nan, I know I'm not young, but I do understand how hard it can be.

"Our upcoming release, Dream of the Young, fits perfectly with their situation because these incredibly noble people caring for others have dreams of their own and I wanted to use this concert to say that's possible, so I just thought right, let's go for it!"

Matt Jolly, Sam Lay and Matt Hudson, who are the other members of Dead Jackals helped to choose the second charity they would support, which is The Able Foundation.

The Andover charity supports sufferers of Mitochondrial Disease and helps their families deal with this life-limiting disease.

Since the band's first-ever gig in January 2022, they have caught management interest and are set to perform at some festivals this year.

Their upcoming song release will also be available from January 27 on all platforms and the upcoming concerts don't require a pre-booked ticket.
