NO forensic evidence links one of the men accused of murder to the immediate scene of the crime, a court has heard.

As previously reported, a trial at Winchester Crown Court is underway following the murder of father-of-two Frantisek Olah in Basingstoke.

Ismaila Kamarra-Jarra, 19, of Milton Close, Basingstoke; Je Daine Carty, 18, of Ferndown Close, Basingstoke; and Cohan Daley, 18, whose address cannot be given for legal reasons, have all been charged with murder.

Mr Olah, 31, was found with serious injuries in Musgrave Close, Brighton Hill on Sunday, May 22. He was later pronounced dead.

The three men allegedly fled the scene of the murder with the help of Kaysha Saunders and Kelsea Byrne. While Carty and Kamarra-Jarra fled to Oxford, Daley was later arrested in Southampton.

Saunders, 18, from Highfield Chase, Basingstoke, and Byrne, 19, from Warwick Road, Basingstoke, and Abbie Mills, 18, from Woburn Gardens, Basingstoke have been charged with assisting an offender.

On Monday, January 16 Andrew Bird KC, defending Daley, began delivering his closing statement to the jury.

He said: "There is an easy route to a verdict on this case. Chelsey Lee's [Mr Olah's partner] evidence was that she saw three men all stabbing or poking at Mr Olah. I am going to say to you that you can't be sure that her account is 100 per cent accurate."

Mr Bird told the court that Daley is "different" because he had no motive, a knife belonging to him was never found and there was no blood or prints at Musgrave Close attributed to Daley.

There was also no forensic evidence at the immediate scene of the attack attributed to Daley and he has not given a confession.

Carty has previously told the court that he worked for Mr Olah as a drug runner.

Carty said he took over the drugs line but soon became in debt to Mr Olah after breaking two of his scooters and losing £2,500 worth of drugs seized by police after they raided an address in Woburn Gardens.

The court heard that Carty decided to rob Mr Olah, asking Kamarra-Jarra, and Daley to help him.

Mr Bird continued by telling the court that Ms Lee was also "inconsistent about the description of the knife that Mr Daley" was holding.

He said: "Can you be sure that this is not simply a case of him [Daley] being in the wrong place at the wrong time?"

The court also heard a closing statement from Adrianne Knight, defending Byrne, who told the jury that Byrne was "tricked into giving them a lift".

She said: "Does she look like an arch-villain to you? She doesn’t to me, she looks like a silly naive girl."

The trial continues.
