Chineham 20-0 Bognor

Chineham defeated Bognor on a memorable day for two long-serving players who notched their first Chineham tries in the mud and rain.

Chineham started strongly in the mud bowl, disrupting the opposition's line out and dominating at the scrum.

The pressure eventually paid off after a succession of penalties gave the platform for a strong maul spearheaded by Josh Pickett, who sprung over to notch his first Chineham try and get one over on the president.

Chineham continued to dictate the game up the hill, spurning a few glorious chances before Jamie West pilfered a Bognor line out and broke towards the line.

Chris Heywood ran a great supporting line to finish off via a trademark West offload, also notching his first Chineham try.

The half followed a similar pattern, weather conditions and a touch of greediness stopping the Lions from adding any more scores before West stole another line out on the Bognor 5 and swan dived over.

Bognor came out strong in the second half, and more sloppiness from the Lions prevented them from adding further gloss to the score line until a cross-field kick landed perfectly for Matt Lingham to nudge on make the most of the conditions to slide home and secure the bonus point.

Chineham will visit Tottonians next.
