THE most crime-ridden streets in Basingstoke have been revealed from official police statistics. 

The most recent figures, which show the number of crimes reported to Hampshire Constabulary in November 2022, reveal where the most offences were recorded. 

In November alone, 1,272 crimes were reported in Basingstoke, which were carried out in more than 500 streets. 

Crimes are reported as happening “in or near” a street.

Here are the 10 streets in Basingstoke with the most reported crimes from November 2022:

1). A3010 - crime reports: 11

Topping the list is the A3010, where 11 crimes were reported varying from violence and sexual offences to vehicle crime.

2). Julius Close - crime reports: nine

All nine reported crimes that happened along this road were incidents of anti-social behaviour.

3). Winchester Street - crime reports: nine

A range of crimes were committed on Winchester Street, including violence and sexual offences, possession of weapons, public order and theft.

4). Taverner Close - crime reports: nine

Among the nine reported crimes, there were incidents of violence and sexual offences, public order and burglary, along with criminal damage and arson.

5). Jays Close - crime reports: nine

The majority of the crimes reported on Jays Close were public order offences as well as criminal damage and arson.

6). Carpenters Court - crime reports: nine

There were a concerning amount of violence and sexual offences reported on Carpenters Court in November, with seven reported incidents, and a further two still under investigation.

6). New Street - crime reports: eight

There were three reported public orders, two violence and sexual offences and two robbery incidents.

7). Mullins Close - crime reports: eight

Crimes reported along Mullins Close were primarily violence and sexual offences and public order.

8). Bunnian Place - crime reports: eight

On Bunnian Place a variety of offences were reported including bike thefts, burglary, criminal damage and arson. There was also one incident of anti-social behaviour and another of theft.

9). St Christophers Close - crime reports: eight

All eight reported crime incidents during November were violence and sexual offences.

10). Seal Road - crime reports: seven

On Seal Road, there were three reported crimes of violence and sexual offences, one incident of possession of weapons and two incidents of other theft.
