A BASINGSTOKE man has been jailed for 34 weeks for harassing a woman and assaulting a police officer.

David Anthony Reeves, of Queen's Road, Brookvale, was found guilty of causing a woman to fear that violence would be used against her by his course of conduct.

Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court was told that between September 8 and October 1 he made a number of phone calls and threatened the victim.

The 57-year-old was also found guilty of attacking a police officer on April 28 at The Point in Maldive Road.

Magistrates deemed that Reeves should be sent to prison because of the seriousness of the offences and that the harassment offence was committed whilst on bail.

He must pay £630 court costs and a £187 victim surcharge.

Three charges of sending a message that was grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character were withdrawn.

 

A BASINGSTOKE man who was caught masturbating in public has been fined.

Lee Jones, of Normanton Road, Oakridge pleaded guilty to being in a public place and committing an act outraging public decency by behaving in an indecent manner. The offence took place on July 12, last year.

The 22-year-old was fined £50 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge.

 

MAGISTRATES have endorsed a Basingstoke woman’s driving licence with three points after she was caught speeding.

Marcella Eboni White, of Chaucer Close, Popley was caught driving a Kia on the A303 near Wincanton, in Somerset, on January 28.

The court register does not indicate the speed she was travelling at, but the limit on the stretch of road is 70mph.

She was also fined £66 and told to pay £40 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

 

A BASINGSTOKE man has been hit with points on his licence after he was caught speeding on the A303.

Robert Tidswell, of Culver Road, in Kings Furlong was caught driving at 73mph while behind the wheel of a Renault three miles east of Sparkford on February 4.

The speed limit on the stretch of road is 60mph.

He pleaded guilty to speeding during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

The 53-year-old was given three points on his driving licence and fined £66. He must also pay £40 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

 

A WOMAN who harassed a man for four months has been fined hundreds of pounds.

Diane Green, of Basingstoke, pursued a course of conduct which amounted to harassment between August 31, 2021, and January 1, this year.

The 36-year-old sent him numerous emails, called him on a number of occasions and left abusive voicemails and contacted his place of work.

Green previously pleaded not guilty but changed her plea during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

She was fined £234 and ordered to pay £100 court costs, along with a £34 victim surcharge.

 

A BASINGSTOKE man who admitted to assaulting a police officer and smashing a window has been fined.

Joshua Livesley, of no fixed abode, smashed a window and damaged a window blind belonging to a woman in Basingstoke on August 8.

On the same day, he also assaulted police officer Toby Proctor while he was carrying out his duties as an emergency worker.

Then on August 16 he used threatening / abusive words / behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Basingstoke.

The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to all three offences during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

Magistrates fined him £80 and also ordered him to pay £75 compensation to the police officer.

 

A DRIVER has been hit with points on his licence after he was caught driving whilst disqualified.

Ajet Keci, of Romford, was stopped on the motorway between junction 5 and junction 6 while disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence on August 27.

The offence was proved in his absence during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

The 24-year-old was fined £660 and given six points on his licence. He must also pay a £264 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

 

A FARNBOROUGH man who was caught over the drink-drive limit in Basingstoke has been disqualified.

David Jupp, of Caswell Close, was stopped in Jays Close, Viables, on November 10 with 55 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.

He admitted to the offence at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court and was banned from driving for 15 months.

He was also fined £80 and told to pay £40 court costs, along with a £32 victim surcharge.
