AN ACCUSED killer did not want anyone to get hurt despite planning an armed robbery, court hears.

On Friday, December 2, Je Daine Carty, was cross-examined after giving his evidence during an eight-week trial at Winchester Crown Court where he stands accused of killing a man in his home in Musgrave Close, Brighton Hill.

Carty has been charged with the murder of Frantisek Olah on Sunday, May 22, along with Ismaila Kamarra-Jarra, of Milton Close, Basingstoke, and Cohan Daley, whose address cannot be given for legal reasons.

As previously reported, Laurie Anne Power, defending Carty, told the court that he worked for Mr Olah as a drug runner. Carty, who described Mr Olah as "a friend", would regularly meet him at his home to help wrap drugs.

After taking over the drugs line he soon became in debt to Mr Olah after breaking two of his scooters valued at £180 each and losing £2,500 worth of drugs seized by police, after they raided an address in Woburn Gardens.

In his evidence, Carty told the court that he felt ‘under pressure' by Mr Olah and decided to rob him to show him ‘he could not own him’. On the night of Mr Olah's death, Carty attempted to rob him at his home alongside Kamarra-Jarra and Daley, armed with knives.

Carty claimed he had no idea Mr Olah had been stabbed and did not see any blood after the attempted robbery had taken place.

Prosecuting, Sarah Jones KS said: “What did you think they were going to do with the knives?

“Six-foot Olah with his child upstairs has three men bowering into him and you don’t think weaponry will need to be used at any time?”

Carty told the court ‘he didn’t think there would be a need’ and said he did not want anyone to get hurt.

The court heard that at the time of death Mr Olah was wearing a white tracksuit with a black coat over his top half.

Ms Jones continued: “He was wearing a white tracksuit but you say you did not see blood on the white tracksuit.

“You saw no sign of blood on a white tracksuit how is that?"

Blood was also found on Carty’s knife, when asked how this got here by Ms Jones he said "I do not know".

Reading out his defence statement she continued: "You say here, he said they stabbed me in the heart.

"When you ran away did you not think about talking about that at any anytime with the other two?"

Carty answered no.

The trial continues.
