A GOLF hotel in Basingstoke is running an initiative during this festive season to support a local food bank.

Sandford Springs Hotel & Golf Club will be donating its visitor green fee revenue from selected dates in December to Basingstoke Foodbank.

On top of this, Sandford Springs' owners Paul and Jennifer Gibbons have pledged to match donations that have been received.

Sandford Springs said it is running this charitable initiative alongside its sister properties, Dale Hill in East Sussex and The Oxfordshire which are all part of the Leaderboard Group.

A Sandford Springs spokesperson said: “Food Banks provide an incredibly important service to our less fortunate neighbours within the local community and across the country.

“With Christmas approaching and the cost of living rising across the country we have recognised that it’s more important than ever to support those in need.”

To join the mission, book your tee time on Monday, November 28, or December 5, 12 and 19.

Sandford Springs, located between Newbury and Basingstoke, features a 27-hole golf course with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside in addition to a 4-star hotel and a clubhouse.
