Stagecoach will be inviting visitors for a behind the scene community open day at Basingstoke bus depot later this month.

The special event will be raising money for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance charity.

From 10am until 4pm on Sunday, November 27, visitors to the depot on Rankine Road can visit Santa’s Grotto, take a bus trip through the bus wash, see their name in lights, take an exclusive look at this year’s festive Santa Bus as well as enjoying hot food and drink on site too.

A free shuttle bus will run throughout the day from Basingstoke Bus Station to get visitors to and from the event.

The Stagecoach team will be on hand to answer questions about current vacancies at both Andover and Basingstoke bus depots.

Basingstoke operations manager Kerry Mansfield said: “We’re thrilled to hold our first community event in Basingstoke and hope visitors to our event will enjoy seeing what goes on behind the scenes at our bus depot. There will be lots of festive fun on the day, all to raising money for such a worthy cause."

Keith Wilson from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance said: “Every day we’re blown away by the unique and inventive ways people support our charity. And a behind-the-scenes look at a bus depot is just that! We’re incredibly grateful to Stagecoach for their generosity and hope to see as many of our loyal supporters from Basingstoke and the surrounding areas there as possible.”
