A BASINGSTOKE-based housing developer has helped provide a new kitchen for the head office of a veteran’s charity.

When Help for Heroes, the leading Armed Forces and veterans’ charity, needed an upgrade to its kitchen at its Salisbury head office, Bewley Homes stepped in to support such a worthy cause.

As the majority of money raised by the charity goes towards supporting veterans and their families to live better lives, there was no money in the budget for a desperately needed new kitchen.

With Bewley’s help, the staff and veterans now have a chance to make a cup of tea or coffee in relaxing surroundings.

Bewley’s marketing manager Lucy Gray joined John Carpenter, regional fundraising manager at Help for Heroes’ headquarters on Friday, November 11.

This also marked Armistice Day when those who laid down their lives, or were injured, during past conflicts while protecting the country’s freedom, are remembered.

Andrew Brooks, managing director at Bewley Homes, said: “We were delighted to help this fantastic charity and provide a new kitchen for everyone – veterans, visitors and staff to enjoy.”
