A BAUGHURST man has been told to pay hundreds in compensation after he damaged his neighbour’s property.

Sonny Caswell, of O’Bee Gardens, damaged his neighbour’s property and cars on April 7, this year.

During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court, the 19-year-old admitted to two counts of criminal property.

Caswell was told to pay £654 in compensation to his victim.

A BASINGSTOKE man was found guilty of attacking a police officer in Andover.

Marcin Bartczak, of Freemantle Close, was found guilty in his absence of assaulting police officer Callum Wagner on Walworth Industrial Estate on June 28, last year.

The 37-year-old was fined £180 and told to pay £75 compensation.

A BASINGSTOKE woman stole shoes and a dress from shops in Festival Place earlier this year.

Mary-Anne Mitchell, of Vivaldi Close, stole a pair of shoes from H&M worth £12.99, a dress from Quiz worth £36.99, and seven items from Holland and Barrett worth £114.

During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court, the 37-year-old pleaded guilty to three counts of theft from a shop.

Mitchell was fined £40 and must pay £40 court costs, along with a £34 victim surcharge.

MAGISTRATES have fined a Basingstoke man who breached a restraining order.

Terence Moore, of Falkland Road, admitted to breaching the order by going to an address in Basingstoke that he was banned from doing so.

The 35-year-old was fined £80, he must also pay £40 court costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

A DRIVER from Basingstoke was caught behind the wheel when he was disqualified from doing so.

Thierno Barry, of Forsythia Walk, was stopped on Whitedown Lane in Alton without a driving licence and insurance. The offence took place on April 19.

The 38-year-old admitted to the charges during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

Barry was disqualified from driving for 26 months and fined £300. He must also pay £85 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

MAGISTRATES have disqualified a man who was caught behind the wheel with drugs in his system.

David Pratt was stopped on Malshanger Lane, Malshanger, on June 4 while he had not less than 27ug/l of cocaine in his blood – the legal limit is 10.

He also had more than 200ug/l of benzoylecgonine in his blood – the legal limit is 50, and not less than 5.6ug/l of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) when the limit is two.

Pratt, of Cobden Avenue, Southampton, committed the offences on June 4.

The 50-year-old was banned from driving for 16 months and fined £600. He must also pay £85 court costs and a £120 victim surcharge.
