AN OLD Basing pub will close its doors on Monday ahead of a major six-figure investment.

The Hatch, part of the Chef and Brewer Collection, will be completely transformed on the inside, with significant improvements to the garden area due to take place next year.

Internally, the pub will be revamped, including new carpets, a new colour scheme, and new furniture and furnishings throughout.

The pub's layout is also changing, with the dog-friendly bar area being extended to allow more space for guests looking to relax with a casual drink. The overall capacity of the pub will also increase as a result.

Pub guests can enjoy a premium food and drinks menu boasting a huge variety of popular pub classics and seasonal specials. There will also be a brunch menu available between 9.15-11.15am on Saturdays and Sundays.

The pub is taking bookings for its Festive Party set menu, where customers can enjoy a three-course meal and bespoke drinks, available between Monday, December 5 and Saturday, December 24.

As a result of the renovations, the Hatch team is looking to recruit for a number of full time and part time roles, including front of house, kitchen and management staff. Applicants can apply via Indeed.

General manager Kristie Hyde said: “Everyone at the Hatch is excited to see the changes being made to the pub and we can’t wait to welcome guests back through our doors to experience its new look and feel.

“The Hatch is a popular pub entrenched in the local community, so this investment is a significant one for everyone in the area and will ensure we can enhance our offering to customers during the festive period and beyond.”

The pub will reopen on Monday, December 5.
