BASINGSTOKE and Deane's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure is already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M3, from 8pm October 3 to 6am November 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 6 to 5, Lane closures for grounds surveys.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A303, from 8pm November 1 to 6am November 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 westbound, Bullington, slip road and lane closures for electrical work, diversion via National Highways network.

• A34, from 8pm November 7 to 6am November 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, Whitchurch, Lane closures for barrier upgrades.

• A303, from 8pm November 14 2022 to 6am January 28 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 northbound, Bullington to Litchfield, carriageway closure for barrier upgrades, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.

• A34, from 8pm November 14 2022 to 6am January 28 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, Whitchurch, Narrow lanes and 50mph speed limit in place for barrier upgrades.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
