BORN and bred in Basingstoke, where his love for ventriloquism started, Steve Hewlett will return for an adult-only show next month alongside two other acts.

Steve did his first show at the Oakridge West Community Centre when he was 14-years-old and now 33 years later, within his 25th year as a ventriloquist he is going back to his roots for a comedy variety night on Saturday, November 12.

As a Water Rat, he was previously invited to Buckingham Palace with members of the Showbusiness Charity to meet HRH Prince Phillip and HM Queen Elizabeth II in 2014.

He was also a finalist on Britains Got Talent in 2014 for his ventriloquist act and has performed all around the world on cruise ships.

Steve said: "I am very nostalgic about my past and will never forget my routes, the venue this show will be at gave me my first opportunity within my career and I can't believe how time has passed.

"This venue means a lot to me and I can't wait to see people crying with laughter, we have a great evening planned!"

His upcoming show will also involve appearances from two other acts - Raymond and Mr Timpkins Revue, who are an award-winning comedy duo, as well as Steve's wife, Nina, who will be closing the show by performing a Gloria Estefan tribute.

After Steve's show he has his third upcoming UK tour, and the publication of his book Ventriloquest.

Something that started out just as a lockdown project, also led Steve to complete 180 episodes of his podcast Eyes & Teeth where he hosts interviews with showbusiness people behind the scenes. Such as Tommy Cannon, Su Pollard and many more.
