Dear Editor,

When is the government going to admit that sheer incompetence crashed the UK economy, made us the laughing stock of the world and that we are now worse off than before PM Liz Truss was elected by the conservatives and not the public.

The Chancellor Jeremy Hunt known for having left the NHS in dire straits when he was health secretary, if he stays, intends to announce spending cuts to regain the billions lost in the unfunded tax cuts that never had a plan. How many more will die this winter due to NHS cuts?

While people are freezing the energy companies are making huge profits and even more when the cap is raised because they are private. The government's insistence to push for new oil and gas licenses does not reduce our bills, are expensive, take longer to get into full production and endanger the climate.

The government sees food poverty (1 in 4 households involving children going without food) as inevitable consequences of circumstances. The government does not care about the public but only about saving their own jobs while fighting to become prime minister.

Otherwise, why is the chancellor reluctant to impose levies to make polluters pay: a windfall tax without loopholes on fossil fuel extraction, a frequent flyer levy, and a tax on incineration rather than spending cuts that undermine growth?

Liz Truss, most unpopular and shortest serving prime minister has finally gone, left the UK in chaos and its reputation in ruins. Yet again, the public has no say, leaving the world wondering if the UK is a democracy.
