A BASINGSTOKE-based charity and a primary school have both received cash boosts thanks to a former mayor’s charitable fund.

Hatch Warren Junior School and The Safe have both been awarded cheques from a charitable fund set up by former Basingstoke mayor Cllr Dan Putty.

The cheques were presented by Cllr Putty from the Basingstoke and Deane Community Endowment Fund, which is managed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF).

“I am also thrilled to support The Safe with a grant of £841 for the vital work that they do to support local families with young children, in particular in the area of child bereavement.
