AFTER celebrating its 18th birthday, The Topiary Salon in Old Basing surprised its customers with a secret expansion.

The team at the salon held a party on Wednesday, October 12, to celebrate both the salon's 18th birthday and reveal its 800-sq-ft additional space.

Other than posting a few teasers on its social media pages over the last few weeks, unless customers realised the planning notice outside, no one knew about the expansion until the reveal party.

Laura Haystaff, company director of The Topiary Salon, said: "The response from our clients so far on social media to our news, and the 'wows!' when they have walked into the salon today, have been incredible.

"A few glasses of fizz have already been served from our bar, there’s been lots of 'I can’t wait for my next appointment' messages."

The new space has been titled the "Power House" to embrace the changes the business has recently undertaken to lead where they are today.

During the current energy crisis, the salon aims to make customers' visits as luxurious and a unique experience as possible, which is why it has also obtained an alcohol premise license.

The salon team is currently made up of hair and beauty experts with the plan of inviting an aesthetician and other industry professionals to also join the Powerhouse.
