AN application has been approved allowing changes to an ongoing development project in Tadley.

The application was submitted by Michael Brinkies to allow the installation of five windows on the northern edge of his property on Silchester Road to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

Kate Bull, the partner of Michael Brinkies, said that the installation of the windows would allow more light into the property and make the building more aesthetically pleasing.

The application had some objections from neighbours concerned about how the windows will affect their privacy.

Michael Gallagher of Silchester Road was one of those who objected, saying: “We object to the variation as we are concerned these additional windows will impact our privacy by giving visibility into our garden and back of our home including bedrooms.”

The application was approved by the Basingstoke and Deane Council development control committee during a meeting on September 28.

One of the supporters who approved the application was Cllr Graham Falconer, who said: “I was on the site viewing, and I did think the amendments made good sense.

“I think any overlooking is fairly minimum because it's mostly the landing and the two side windows downstairs."
