AN UNINSURED driver who was caught over the drink drive limit has been disqualified.

Joshua Taylor, whose address is listed as care of Abbey Road, Popley, changed his pleas at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on the day of trial.

Taylor was caught on Rooksdown Avenue on April 22 behind the wheel of a black BMW. It was found that he did not have insurance and was over the drink drive limit.

He had 57 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35.

The 31-year-old has been banned from driving for 15 months and must pay £250 court costs, along with a £334 victim surcharge. He was also fined £150.

MAGISTRATES have jailed a 35-year-old man after he used violence to enter an address in Basingstoke.

Stephen John Gould was found guilty of damaging a mobile phone belonging to a woman in the town on January 20 and using violence to enter an address when the occupant was opposed on the same day.

Gould, of Caversham, Reading, was jailed for 10 weeks due to the seriousness of the offences.

He must also pay a £128 victim surcharge.

A BASINGSTOKE man has been disqualified from getting behind the wheel after he was caught drug driving.

Kieran O’Brien, of Cambrian Way, admitted to the offence on the day of trial at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court.

He was stopped on Churchill Way West on September 18, last year, driving a BMW. He had not less than 197ug/L of benzoylecgonine in his blood - the legal limit is 50.

The 30-year-old has been disqualified from driving for 16 months and fined £590. He must also pay £950 court costs and a £59 victim surcharge.

A BASINGSTOKE man has been handed a suspended sentence after he was caught drug driving.

Oliver Thomas Havers, of Howard Road, was behind the wheel of a blue Citreon C3 on the M3 when he was found to be over the limit for two drugs. The offence took place on May 6, 2020.

Berkshire Magistrates’ Court heard that the 28-year-old had not less than 377 ug/L of benzoylecgonine in his blood - the legal limit is 50.

He also had 99 ug/L of ketamine in his blood - the legal limit is 20.

He pleaded guilty to both charges during an appearance at magistrates’ court.

Havers was given an eight-week prison sentenced suspended for 12 months. He must also complete 120 hours of unpaid work and up to 20 rehabilitation days.

He was also banned from driving for 36 months.

The court register said the offence was aggravated by the fact that two drugs in system at the time of driving and that he caused an accident which resulted in injury. No other details were given.

MAGISTRATES have disqualified a man after he was found to be drink driving.

Samuel Wilkins was behind the wheel of a red Vauxhall on Fleet Road, in Hartley Wintney, on September 7 when he was found to be over the legal alcohol limit.

The 41-year-old had 83 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.

He admitted the offence during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

Wilkins, of Tetbury, Gloucestershire, was banned from driving for 18 months and fined £576. He must also pay a £230 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

A HOOK man was found over the drink drive limit in a shopping centre car park.

David Black, of Church View, was caught while driving a Mitsubishi Shogun in the car park of Festival Place on September 7.

He had 74 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.

He admitted to the offence at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

The 60-year-old was banned from driving for 18 months and fined £400. He must also pay a £160 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
