A TADLEY man has been found guilty of driving a car whilst not wearing a seatbelt.

Vasile-Florin Adam, of Titchfield Close, drove a Peugeot Boxer on Tadley Hill while not wearing a seatbelt on February 25, last year.

The 38-year-old did not appear at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court and was found guilty in absence.

He was fined £220 and told to pay £110 court costs, along with a £34 victim surcharge.

MAGISTRATES have jailed a Basingstoke man for 10 weeks after he assaulted a woman.

Declan Martin Westwell, of no fixed abode, assaulted the victim on June 17 and admitted the offence during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

Magistrates jailed the 27-year-old due to the serious nature of the offence and that it was committed while Westwell was subject to a community order.

A restraining order was put in place banning him from entering Lefroy Avenue. He was also told to pay a £154 victim surcharge.

f A MOTORIST has been disqualified after he was caught over the drink drive limit.

Aaron William Bandeira, of Kenilworth Road, Fleet, was stopped in Hartford Road, Hartley Wintney on July 26, last year.

He had 54 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court the 26-year-old pleaded guilty, having previously denied the offence.

Magistrates banned him from driving for 16 months and fined him £500.

He must also pay £1,500 court costs and a £50 victim surcharge.

A BASINGSTOKE man has been barred from a pub after he admitted to causing damage and harassing a man.

Darren Graham, Sarum Hill, pleaded guilty to harassment without violence of man between August 1 and 11. He attended his place of work every day despite being barred and asked not to go there.

On August 11, the 51-year-old damage two umbrellas worth £300 belonging to the New Inn pub, in Sarum Hill.

During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court he admitted to criminal damage, assault by beating of another man, and possessing a controlled drug of Class B - Cannabis / Cannabis Resin which all took place on August 11.

Graham has been barred from the New Inn pub. He is also not allowed to stand, loiter, pass by or walk on the perimeter pavement to the pub, but is able to walk on the pavement on the other side of Sarum Hill and the pavement on the other side of Flaxfield Road.

He will also be subject to electronic monitoring until August 16, next year.

A further charge of common assault was withdrawn.

A BRAMLEY resident has been fined for possessing a NATO Red Pepper spray canister.

Aneta Kasinka, of Garside Close, was found with the canister on November 2, 2020. The 29-year-old admitted to the offence during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court in August.

Kasinka was fined £120 and must pay £85 court costs, along with a £34 victim surcharge.

Forfeiture and destruction of the pepper spray was ordered.

A WOMAN has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after she was caught drink driving.

Zuzanna Kaja was stopped while driving a Ford Focus on the junction of the A34 and Newbury Road, Litchfield, on July 2.

The 30-year-old had 63 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

She was also did not have the correct licence and insurance.

She admitted to the offences at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.

The court was told that the offences were committed whilst Kaja, of Warwick, was subject of a community order.

Magistrates banned her from driving for 40 months and ordered her to complete 120 hours of unpaid work, along with 15 rehabilitation days.

A MAN who caused damage worth £640 to a Tesla Model S has been handed a restraining order.

Martin Otti, of Boyce Close, Basingstoke, damaged the car on October 3, 2021, and on the same day he assaulted a woman.

Magistrates made the 40-year-old the subject of a restraining order.
