AN OVERTURNED lorry saw the M3 closed on Thursday morning (September 1).
Police advised motorists to avoid the area after the incident which took place between Junction 8 Popham and Junction 9 Winnall shortly after 5am.
M3 was fully closed southbound and one lane northbound at around 5.40am.

By 7am, the lorry had been recovered and the road reopened shortly after.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "We were called just before 5am this morning to reports of a road traffic collision on the southbound carriageway of the M3 between junctions 8 and 9.
"One lorry was involved and no injuries were reported. The carriageway has since been reopened."
Another major incident also closed the A27 near Hilsea late on Wednesday, August 31.
The M27 eastbound near Junction 12 Hilsea was also closed this morning (September 1).
