THE multi-award winning New Old Friends are touring another dose of murder and mayhem.

The show called Crimes on Centre Court, will be at The Haymarket from Tuesday, October 4 until Thursday, October 6.

The chair of The Whombledun International Invitational Tennis Tournament, Lord Knows, has died and his son, Hugh, is suspicious. The police won’t take the case so Hugh calls in Perry & Penny Pink, private investigators.

What transpires has all the hallmarks of the company’s particular brand of theatrical hilarity: the riotous romp of a whodunit is full of sharp one-liners, and a cast of four performers play countless characters with quick-fire costume changes and quicker wits.

Crimes on Centre Court, is based on a story from New Old Friends’ award-winning podcast (Number two in iTunes fiction chart), is an ace of a show which you’re sure to love.  This deucey treat will rally the spirits and leave you wanting a second serve-ing of the volley of gags and visual delights. You won’t see it game set and matched anywhere else.

The writer and director of the show, Feargus Woods Dunlop, said: “It was an audio story first. When Covid closed the theatres, we were four previews into a show which was supposed to tour and lead into another tour.

“So Heather and I, like the rest of the industry, were left wondering what to do. But, after a couple of months scrambling to save the company financially, we were absolutely determined to get something out to our audience that was fully Covid proof.

“In December 2020 we launched our podcast Comedy Whodunnits for Your Ears, Heather abd I play all the characters and it is edited and has glorious sound wizardry added by Fred Riding our brilliant sound designer for the stage shows.”
