THE Sherfield Village Fete and Dog Show will make its long-awaited return next month.

The fete is set to take place on Saturday, September 3, and will run from 12–4.30pm.

Located on the Sherfield Village Green, the fete will offer a dazzling array of attractions in keeping with this year’s theme: The Great British Fete.

The main arena will feature first class falconry displays, Old Basing Marching Corps of Drums, a demonstration by the Petite School of Dancing, Basing Clog Morris Dancing and the annual “Tussle of the Taverns” tug of war.

Other attractions include a classic car display, the ever-competitive dog show, traditional fete stalls such as welly throwing and crockery smashing, Hollycross Farm petting animals and giant inflatables and bungee jumping for children.

Both commercial and local stalls will be present at the fete, alongside stalls selling food and refreshments and a beer tent.

Wood fired pizzas, barbeque, afternoon teas and ice-cream will all be available.

Live music will be performed on the green, while the Equinox Jazz Quartet will be playing in the village hall garden.

The fete this year will be raising funds for the Sherfield Village Hall and Church as well as the Basingstoke Foodbank.
