RESIDENTS have been invited along to a steampunk family weekend at the Milestones museum in Basingstoke – including a Doctor Who exhibition.

During the event residents will be able to browse trade stalls throughout the museum, with music from buskers and on the main stage where host Duke Box will be bring an abundance of buffoonery with games for all to enjoy.

This year, Authors Corner steps front and centre into the heart of the museum with story performances and readings from visiting steampunk authors, hosted by Belinda Storyteller.

Residents will also be able to enjoy art displays from Archibald’s Mechanical Marvel, and for the first time, Gary Nicholls brings his unique exhibition the Imaginarium trilogy.

In the first floor education suite, the Doctor Who exhibition will arrive with a T.A.R.D.I.S. console for taking selfies, a display of props and masks from the show and a chance to meet a Doctor Who host.

Outside, you will find more trade stands, plus some modern fun fair rides. What's more, the event will bring the Curious House of Stories - a 40-seater mini theatre yurt for exclusive performances and workshops.

The 'True Fans Ticket' is available again this year, with all proceeds going to performers. This year it includes a CD with some exclusive tracks from previous performers, Professor Elemental, Victor and the Bully, Rapscallion, Madam Misfit, the filthy spectacular and Chasing the Dark, as well as event stalwarts Humphrey & Maude, Dr Grey and brand new tracks from brand new bands Lethia's Natatorium and Sonic 909, who will be performing withfor the first time.

Victor and the Bully will return to headline along with games at Victoria Gardens, Belly Funk, a fashion show and the debut of the new Band Lethia's Natatorium, it looks set to be a full weekend.

The family fun weekend takes place from September 10 to 11 and is called Cobbles and Cogs.
