AN OFFICE rental agency is holding a car boot sale to raise funds to send essential supplies to Ukraine.

Absolutely Offices is hosting the sale on Sunday, August 21, from 9.30am-12.30pm at its office at Jamison House Chineham Court on Lutyens Close.

The company will be selling donations that it cannot send to Ukraine and is also inviting members of the public to pitch up and sell if they wish.

It will cost between £7-£10 to pitch at the offices, with spaces available both inside and outside, and attending sellers will be able to keep any money they make on the day.

Absolutely Offices managing director Beryl Huntingdon explained: “The pitch fee from the sellers will go towards the Ukrainian fund.

“And we will have two tables of stuff that has been donated during our collection for Ukraine that we couldn’t send to Ukraine, so we thought the best thing to do is hold a car boot sale and then the funds can go towards Ukraine, towards transporting the next load that we send out.”

The money that Absolutely Offices makes from the pitch proceeds at the event will go towards the Absolutely Ukrainian Appeal Fund.

The business is currently attempting to raise £2,000 to send a lorry of donated supplies to Ukraine.

She continued: “At the moment we can’t start the hub up again because we haven’t got finances for the lorry.

“Absolutely has donated just about £5,000 to the fund, to actually get the collection hub started, the first lorry, etc.

“And this is why we are fundraising now for the next lot, so we can start collecting again.”
